Our work strengthens farmers markets throughout Ohio, but has greater impact where markets and vendors collaborate with one another, and with stakeholders in their communities. As such, the Ohio Farmers Market Network moderates a list-serv for farmers market vendors, and provides workshops and networking opportunities throughout Ohio.
Is the farmers market your best sales outlet? Is it the right fit for your product? How, when and where do you start selling those oh-so-good cupcakes? Should you grow kale or collards, or both?
Those are great questions, and ones we hope to answer at our first ever Farmers Market Vendor Conference. We're turning the spotlight on the farmers, food producers and small businesses that power Ohio's farmers markets, and giving them the tips, tricks and tools they need to be successful in the direct-to-consumer, farmers market environment.
Farmers Markets and the Vendors Who Power Them
Fresh baked loaves of bread, pulled from the oven and packaged hours before market… Fresh dug carrots, washed, sorted and bagged in the wee hours of the morning…
Without farmers, food producers and other small businesses, our farmers markets simply would not exist. They would not reinvigorate a quiet Main Street or an empty mall. They would not create jobs or finance a family farm. And they would not provide access to fresh, healthy, Ohio grown and produced foods.
Thank you, farmers market vendors!
The Farmers Market Vendor Conference will provide farmers, food producers and other farmers market related businesses the tips, tricks and tools they need to be successful in the direct-to-consumer, farmers market environment. From licensing and proper labeling with the Ohio Department of Agriculture, to the best bang-for-your-buck marketing practices, our speakers and topics will speak directly to the needs of individuals and businesses selling at a farmers market.
For this inaugural event, registration is only $25 and includes:
