Advocacy
The Ohio Farmers Market Network believes in building transformative regional connections between Ohio’s farmers markets, their managers and producers, and the legislative bodies that govern them. The voices of people who develop, manage and support farmers markets are integral in forming policy that is well informed, reasonable, and appropriate. Whether it be policy regarding mobile retail food establishment licenses, or advocating for federal farm bill initiatives, the Ohio Farmers Market Network believes that farmers markets big and small, rural and urban, farmers and bread bakers, jam makers and dairy farmers deserve to be heard.

Our 2024-2026 Strategic Plan identified “advocacy” as an important topic that OFMN and its membership wishes to more clearly define and implement. We also recommend reading the Farmers Market Coalition Advocacy Toolkit and utilizing their resources to fill your tool box and build your confidence.
