Ohio Grows: Food, Farms and Farmers Markets

Agriculture has always been a defining part of the Ohio story. Presented in partnership with Nationwide, Ohio Grows: Food & Farms Month is a statewide celebration and showcase of the vital role agriculture has played in shaping Ohio’s history, economy, and communities. Let us celebrate and be inspired by Ohio’s agricultural leaders! 

To us, there is no better version of local food and community than a farmers market. And Ohio has plenty of them. Visit one of the many farmers markets that are open and ready to feed you!

2nd Street Market
Open year-round on Fridays and Sundays from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. Their final outdoor markets will include Family Pumpkin Decorating on Sunday, October 25 and Trick or Treating with Vendor Costume Contest on Saturday, October 31. Join the fun located at 600 East Second Street in Dayton, Ohio.

Athens Farmers Market
Open every Saturday, year-round from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. The Athens Farmers Market also opens on Wednesdays through November 25 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. All seasons, all weather – visit the Athens Farmers Market located in the parking lot of the Athens Community Center.

Caledonia Farmers Market
The farmers market will be open on October 3 and 10, weather permitting, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm in the Caledonia Public Square.

Canal Market District Farmers Market
Open through October 31, every Friday from 4:00-7:00 pm. The market will celebrate its final outdoor market with Safe Trick or Treat throughout Downtown Newark. 

Cherry Street Local Farmers Market
While this market is closed for the season, it will reopen for two very special Holiday Markets on November 14 and December 5 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm inside the Troy Rec Center.  

Coshocton Farmers Market
Open every Saturday through October 31 from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm at Skip’s Landing in Coshocton, Ohio. The market will celebrate its final market of this season with Halloween fun.

Cuyahoga Valley Farmers Market
Open every Saturday, year-round. Through the end of October, the market will be open from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. You can follow the market inside starting November 7. 

Downtown Youngstown Farmers Market
Open on the 2nd and 4th Thursday (8th and 22nd) through October from 4:00-6:30 pm at the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County (Main). The market will host children’s programming in support of a new project to tell the story of food and food access in Mahoning County. 

Grandview Heights Farmers’ Market
This market wraps up its weekly summer season on Sundays, October 4 and 11 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm, outdoors in the Larson Middle School parking lot. On Sunday, October 25, the market will move inside the middle school to begin its winter season which operates from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. 

Granville Farmers Market

Hyde Park Farmers Market
Spend your Sundays on the Square! The Hyde Park Farmers Market is open Sundays through October from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm. The market will be closed on Sunday, October 4. 

Ironton Farmers Market
The Ironton Farmers Market is open through October 31 from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm. The market is located at 218 South 2nd Street in Ironton, Ohio. 

Montgomery Farmers Market
The Montgomery Farmers Market will close on October 31 with a Halloween Bash! The market is open every Saturday from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm through the end of the month. 

Mount Vernon Farmers Market
Open every Saturday from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm on the Public Square in Mount Vernon. Celebrate their final outdoor market on October 31. 

Nationwide Children’s Hospital Farmers Market
This market will celebrate its final market of the season on Tuesday, October 6 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in Livingston Park in Columbus, Ohio.  

Northside Farmers Market
Visit the farmers market in Hoffner Park every Wednesday in October from 4:00-7:00 pm and celebrate local food! The Northside Farmers Market will host their annual Farm to Table Dinner on October 18 from 4:00-6:00 pm at The Factory, and close the month with a Hall-O-Ween Bash during market hours on October 28. 

Piqua Farmers’ Market
A season extension! The Piqua Farmers’ Market is open through October 8 from 3:00-6:00 pm and they’ll celebrate the last market with an Apple Pie Contest fit for any fall-loving local baker! The market is located in front of the Piqua Public Library. 

Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market
Shop this market on Wednesdays through October 14 from 3:00-7:00 pm at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds in Dover, Ohio. The market will also host a special Holiday Market on Saturday, November 24, just in time for a delicious Thanksgiving meal!
